Mimetic Muscle Motion is a 3D interactive application for desktop that allows the user to explore the relationships between facial muscle movement and corresponding expression. The user will be able to select an individual muscle on the model itself or from a content menu and view its movement on the skeletal-muscle model and the face. Additionally, they may select from a menu of emotions and view movement of all muscles that contribute to that expression. A toolbar will offer the user a suite of several additional functions such as muscle transparency, origin/insertion map, and an overlay of both models. The final tool will display the dynamics of facial muscle movement in an anatomically accurate manner and encourage the user to engage in active, self-directed learning.
